Alina De LaRay, Haluna, V A E L O R A - Midnight Departure

The station clock was five past two November rain on avenue lights One suitcase and a paper cup Waiting for the end of the night The departure board kept changing names Like memories fading out of view I watched reflections on the glass Trying not to think of you The city hummed beyond the tracks A distant echo in the dark Some stories never find an end They simply learn to let you go Every promise turns to smoke Every shadow leaves a trace I can feel the wheels begin Pulling me away Last train to Elysium Where the lost things go at night Taking all the ghosts I leave behind Into the disappearing light Last train to Elysium Far beyond the city sky Every mile erasing one more goodbye Into the disappearing light The platform slowly slipped away Like pages turning in a dream Streetlights drifted through the rain Breaking softly in the stream I saw your street beyond the glass One final time before the bend Some hearts are meant to cross a path Not stay until the end Every promise turns to smoke Every shadow leaves a trace I can feel the wheels begin Pulling me away Last train to Elysium Where the lost things go at night Taking all the ghosts I leave behind Into the disappearing light Last train to Elysium Far beyond the city sky Every mile erasing one more goodbye Into the disappearing light The city disappeared behind me One station light at a time What we were becomes a whisper Fading softly through the lines And somewhere past the sleeping rivers Beyond the reach of yesterday I finally stopped looking backward As the darkness gave way Last train to Elysium Where the lost things go at night Taking all the ghosts I leave behind Into the disappearing light Last train to Elysium Far beyond the city sky Every mile erasing one more goodbye Into the disappearing light Where the lost things go at night Where the lost things go at night Into the disappearing light
