Alina De LaRay, sol., Besomage - Cigarettes For A Cosmonaut

The last cigarette Still burning You always talked about leaving Like the sky was calling your name Maps were spread across the kitchen Nothing ever stayed the same You said the world was too small For the dreams inside your head I stole one of your cigarettes And listened from the bed Every night The stars got closer Every year You moved farther away Cigarettes for the astronaut Still burning on the roof tonight You were chasing constellations I was chasing your taillights Cigarettes for the astronaut Some things never leave the ground You were looking for another world While i was watching you go Cigarettes for the astronaut I heard your name in conversation Somebody said you're doing well Living somewhere near the ocean Far beyond the life we'd known The city kept on changing New buildings filled the view But every time i look above The sky still pulls me back to you Every night The stars got closer Every year You moved farther away Cigarettes for the astronaut Still burning on the roof tonight You were chasing constellations I was chasing your taillights Cigarettes for the astronaut Some things never leave the ground You were looking for another world While i was watching you go Cigarettes for the astronaut Maybe some people are born With one foot already gone Maybe some hearts keep traveling Long after they're already gone I stopped waiting for a landing Stopped wishing on every star Some people belong to the sky Some belong where they are Cigarettes for the astronaut The last one glowing in the dark You were chasing constellations I was carrying the spark Cigarettes for the astronaut Now i finally understand You were never leaving me You were leaving who you were Cigarettes for the astronaut Looking up Cigarettes for the astronaut
