Alina De LaRay, V A E L O R A, The Velours - Saint Catherine Avenue

I walked down saint catherine street When the city lights were turning low The old coffee shop was still there But the names on the windows changed years ago I saw my reflection in the glass For a second i was twenty-three Same black coat, different heartbeat Same street looking back at me And i remembered The nights we stayed too late Talking about forever Like it couldn't wait Saint catherine street Still knows my name Every corner keeps a photograph Of a girl i used to be The lights are different The people moved on But somewhere between these buildings I still hear that old song Saint catherine street Saint catherine street There was a record store on the corner Where we spent our saturdays You picked a song i didn't understand But i still remember your face The bartender at the old hotel Said the neighborhood had changed I smiled and looked outside Some things stay, some fade away I wasn't looking For something i lost I was only trying To find what i became Maybe every city keeps a story From the people passing through Maybe every street remembers Every name it ever knew I don't need to stay forever I don't need to go back again Some places aren't meant to hold you They just show you where you've been Saint catherine street I finally understand It was never about the places It was always who i became The lights are different The years moved on But somewhere between these buildings I found the girl i was before Saint catherine street Saint catherine street Walking home Saint catherine street
