Alina De LaRay, Haluna, V A E L O R A - The Third Door

Three exits past the county line The lights were on again Three exits past the county line A road I used to know The gas station by the river Still glowed like years ago The diner still had music A slow song from another life And every face looked almost familiar Like somebody I left behind I knew the streets I knew the turns I knew the river after rain But every time I asked a question Nobody said a name Three exits from forever Three exits from the life I knew Three exits from forever And somehow they still lead to you Every light still burning Every shadow feels the same Three exits from forever But I never really changed The movie theater stood empty Posters fading on the wall A photograph inside my jacket Looked exactly like it all Summer dresses in the park Bikes leaning by the trees A version of myself I'd buried Looking back at me The air smelled like old gasoline And summer after rain Like a memory refusing To disappear again Three exits from forever Three exits from the life I knew Three exits from forever And somehow they still lead to you Every light still burning Every shadow feels the same Three exits from forever But I never really changed On the backseat of a Chevy I found an old street map With circles drawn around the places I thought I'd never have back Then the station lights went dark And the town began to fade Like it only ever lived inside The memories I saved Three exits from forever Three exits from the life I knew Three exits from forever And somehow they still lead to you Every light still burning Every shadow feels the same Three exits from forever Maybe home was never a place Three exits past the county line The lights went out again
