Alina De LaRay, TRFN, Kaan Pars - When California Was Younger

Before the condos Before the traffic Before we knew the ending There was a diner by the coastline Where the windows faced the sea And every friday after sunset You'd save a booth for me The jukebox played old records That skipped on every third song Back when every road ahead of us Seemed longer than it was The waves looked bigger The nights felt longer Everything felt close enough to touch When california was young And so were we The future sat beside us In the passenger seat When california was young The streetlights glowed all night Maybe nothing really changed Maybe we just lost the light Now the diner is a parking lot The old sign disappeared Most of the people that we knew Haven't been around for years I drove that highway yesterday Past towns i used to know Funny how a place stays with you Long after you let go The ocean's still there The skyline changed But somehow i can still see both When california was young And so were we The future sat beside us In the passenger seat When california was young The streetlights glowed all night Maybe nothing really changed Maybe we just lost the light I don't miss the city Or the roads we drove I miss believing They would never end When california was young And so were we The future sat beside us In the passenger seat When california was young The streetlights glowed all night Maybe nothing really changed Maybe we just lost the light When california was young And so were we Before the condos Before the traffic Before we knew the ending
