SELDEM - On My Way to Happy

Old coat Same park Cold air on my face again Cheap tea in my hand Watching kids race the wind Benches tagged in three tongues Laugh tracks cut the gray Dog barks, bus brakes, birds all saying "stay" I missed a lot of mornings Sleeptalk Heavy head But this one feels different Like I just woke up instead On my way to happy Step by step I go Breath like fog is writing Words the snow can’t hold On my way to happy Past the ghosts I used to drag No apologies No regrets Hands free of the past Phone full of long messages I don’t scroll today I let the silence answer What I’ll never say Old fears on the sidewalk They fade as I walk through I used to bow to shadows Now I just nod and move Moscow sky all silver still There’s color in my chest Little spark Small start But it’s louder than the rest On my way to happy Step by step I go Breath like fog is writing Words the snow can’t hold On my way to happy Past the ghosts I used to drag No apologies No regrets Hands free of the past I won’t rewrite yesterday Let it stay Let it stay Every wrong turn Every late night Made this daylight on my face I plant my hope in simple things Footprints in this frozen ground If I only own this moment That’s already something found On my way to happy Step by step I go Breath like fog is writing Words the snow can’t hold On my way to happy Past the ghosts I used to drag No apologies No regrets Hands free of the past
