Alex Menco - Blink

Streetlights blink like tired eyes The city's alive but it wears a disguise Tires hum low like a secret in the dark The night’s a canvas and I’m the spark Headlights cut the fog like a blade Every turn feels like a choice I’ve made City's alive fog like a blade The night’s a canvas and I’m the spark Signs they flicker and fade Echoes of dreams that the daylight betrayed The wind whispers stories in a tongue I don’t know But I nod like it matters keep riding solo Headlights cut the fog like a blade Every turn feels like a choice I’ve made City's alive fog like a blade The night’s a canvas and I’m the spark Headlights cut the fog like a blade Every turn feels like a choice I’ve made City's alive fog like a blade The night’s a canvas and I’m the spark The road’s a ribbon it pulls me tight Chasing tomorrow through the heart of the night Engine’s a heartbeat steady and deep The city never dreams but it watches me creep Headlights cut the fog like a blade Every turn feels like a choice I’ve made City's alive fog like a blade The night’s a canvas and I’m the spark Signs they flicker and fade Echoes of dreams that the daylight betrayed The wind whispers stories in a tongue I don’t know But I nod like it matters keep riding solo Headlights cut the fog like a blade Every turn feels like a choice I’ve made City's alive fog like a blade The night’s a canvas and I’m the spark Headlights cut the fog like a blade Every turn feels like a choice I’ve made City's alive fog like a blade The night’s a canvas and I’m the spark
