Halsey - A Cry That You Answered - Talking Break - Live From Webster Hall

Oh, yeah Is everybody okay? I said, is everybody okay? I wish I could explain to you guys like What it's like to just do that 'Cause being on stage is a really beautiful thing and like Gives me this opportunity to perform my thoughts And perform my words in front of you But I feel so fucking far away from you So one of my favorite things to do is just jump down there And look at you up close I'm gonna be honest with you guys It's really hard to perform this album because I wrote this A rogue Romeo and Juliet story And it's set in a place where there's guns and fire And blood and magic, and all this amazing cinematic stuff And I'm expected to get on stage and perform it And I'm like a five-foot-four girl from New Jersey So sometimes it feels hard to do this record the justice that it deserves Um, but it also makes me think really, really hard about the songs And about how if you strip all that magic back If you strip away the fucking music videos and whatever else This album was Two things It was a cry for help, which you answered But, it was also this This beautiful story that I made for you So that you would know that you're not alone If you are a proud member of the LGBT community Can you put your hands up in the sky? Put it up higher Are you proud? Do you feel safe? Do you feel seen? Do you know that you are fucking beautiful? Well, then this one's for us
