Ragal Ironbull, Northwind Saga - Sails of the North

Mist on the fjord where the longships sleep Shields by the shoreline, the waters run deep Bjorn grips the oar while Freya reads the signs Old runes glowing silver in the moonlight lines Ravens circle high where the cold winds roam Guiding wandering warriors far away from home The sea sings a warning, the mountains reply Yet we sail ever onward beneath the iron sky Norns weave the threads no blade can sever Names may fade, but the sagas live forever Row through the darkness, row through the foam Follow the stars where the brave ones roam Freya calls the wind, Bjorn answers the sea Bound by the north and destiny Gold may vanish, kingdoms may fall Still the old gods whisper through it all Fire in the hall, thunder in the night Freya and Bjorn ride toward the light Across black waters where the sea wolves roam Searching for glory far from home Axes shine bright in the pale dawn haze Skalds will remember these fearless days Freya sees visions in embers and flame Speaking of battles yet to earn their name Bjorn stands silent with his hand on steel Trusting the fate that the gods reveal Hear the horn echo over stone and snow Calling every warrior where the brave must go Under Odin's ravens, under Thor's great sky A life without courage is a life denied Row through the darkness, row through the foam Follow the stars where the brave ones roam Freya calls the wind, Bjorn answers the sea Bound by the north and destiny Gold may vanish, kingdoms may fall Still the old gods whisper through it all Fire in the hall, thunder in the night Freya and Bjorn ride toward the light When the last wave breaks upon the shore And the longships sail this world no more The songs remain where the north winds cry Freya and Bjorn never truly die Hey In the halls of memory they ride Hey Beneath the endless northern sky
