Bad Boys Blue - Bright Fields

She stood at the port and watched him go aboard While the band was playing Farewell Ireland Tears of there's no grace were streaming down her face 'Cause she, she must stay while he sails away 'Cause the bright fields would burn or yield Led the last love to death And a life lost the guarding shield Her love ran out of breath She began to pray and turned her head away He should not see her deep desperation She forced her heart to learn that he will not return And pain we must transcend there where all roads end 'Cause the bright fields would burn or yield Led the last love to death And a life lost the guarding shield Her love ran out of breath 'Cause the bright fields would burn or yield Led the last love to death And a life lost the guarding shield Her love ran out of breath She left hurt behind, just kept that dream in mind Where together means it's forever There must be a land where a four-piece Irish band Plays I am, I'm coming home
