Girls Rituals - Shield

When you grow to be someone's sister If you can overcome the barriers You might find yourselves to be sharing an incredible power If you can light up each other That's the necessary secret If you really do need it You can have your own hidden world together But let's go back to the beach Let's live in a dream You can pretend to be you I can pretend to be me But we don't need to act like we're ourselves We don't need to be anything I've been thinking wrong forever I don't have to be anything When my mind is overwhelmed When my body won't move You've been a shield over me I want to be a shield over you When my mind shuts down In the most unbelievable pain You've been a shield over me I just want the strength to do the same But my body's not me It won't hold my shape You can't even see my armour But it's shimmering like water And it's heavy like the ocean And yeah it holds me down but I still have enough power And I can still lift it up on my shoulders But my body's not me It won't hold my shape You can't even see my armour But it's shimmering like water And it's heavy like the ocean And yeah it drags me down but I still have enough power And I can still lift it up on my shoulders When my mind is overwhelmed When my body won't move You've been a shield over me I want to be a shield over you When my mind shuts down In the most incredible pain You've been a shield over me I just want the strength to do the same But my body's not me It won't hold my shape I know that I'm something other My body's not me There's no fucking way this cage can last forever
