The Devil Wears Prada Original West End Cast, Georgie Buckland - Girl For The Job

Ah, ah, ah, ah Ah, ah, ah, ah My boss is a beast in stilettos I try to do well and then, bam! She dresses me down like I'm some sort of clown How stupid does she think I am? And why is she this goddess almighty To her overdressed, underfed mob? It's abundantly clear That nobody here thinks I'm the girl for the job The girl for the job (Bad day?) I don't wanna talk about it Let's talk about you, how was your day? (Well, the farmers market had these incredible acorn squash) I thought I knew what I signed up for It's fashion, how hard can it be? (So we are gonna talk about your day?) But this ruthless, extravagant snake pit Is starting to horrify me And they're rolling their eyes in the hallway While I sit in the bathroom and sob So I'm quitting tonight (You are?) I was right! I'm not the girl for the job The girl for the job (Here, call right now, I'm making tacos) Yeah, I'm gonna call right now (Yeah, and tomorrow you'll get another job) (One where you actually get to write something) Totally, huh, totally But that's what they want Wouldn't they love to watch me walk away? Go down in defeat They'd say, "She was sweet But couldn't last a day" And think of the look on Miranda's face If I march back in and stay (Wait, stay? What just happened?) Put on your big girl pants, Andy And just stick it out for a year (A year?) Take Miranda's B.S. and then when she's impressed I'll walk out for my real life career I'll give it a thousand percent now And show that insufferable snob That out of the million girls who would kill for it She got the best damn girl for the job That out of the million girls who would kill for it She got the best damn girl for the job
