Solene Noir, Blue Blue - Almost There

You're lying close but miles away Your skin is warm your words don't stay I hear you breathe I feel the space Between your heart and what you say We used to talk without a sound Now silence barely makes a sound I trace the shape of what we were But it's not you I'm touching now Don't say it's fine We both can feel Something is gone Something too real We're almost there But never close enough We're almost real But never quite in love You hold me like You're scared to stay And I feel lonelier this way We're almost there But drifting out of touch Your eyes don't meet me like before They pass right through they close the door And every time I try to speak You give me less I need you more I learned to stay inside my head To fill the space with words unsaid It's strange how love can feel like this So full so empty in the end Don't say my name Like nothing's changed We're standing still But rearranged We're almost there But never close enough We're almost real But never quite in love You hold me like You're scared to stay And I feel lonelier this way We're almost there But fading into dust If I let go would you even know Or would it feel just the same We're holding on to something gone Still calling it by its name We were almost there Almost there
