Eshe Lí, Dream Fruits Sounds - Whispers of Rain

The rain arrived without a warning Soft fingers tapping on my skin Like tiny secrets from the heavens Calling something deep within Streetlights painted silver rivers Across the empty midnight lanes And every drop that touched the window Felt like somebody saying my name Maybe the sky is trying to tell me Things words could never explain I hear the whispers of rain Falling like forgotten dreams Dancing slowly through the silence Washing dust from everything Every drop becomes a story Every shadow turns to light I hear the whispers of rain Singing softly through the night The trees were swaying like old poets Speaking in a language free And for a moment time stood breathing Like it was waiting there for me I closed my eyes and felt the thunder Like a heartbeat in the dark As if the world was gently drawing Tiny stars around my heart Maybe the sky remembers pieces Of ourselves we leave behind I hear the whispers of rain Falling like forgotten dreams Dancing slowly through the silence Washing dust from everything Every drop becomes a story Every shadow turns to light I hear the whispers of rain Singing softly through the night Nothing stays forever Not the clouds or passing pain But somehow every ending Returns as summer rain I hear the whispers of rain Calling me back home again Through the noise and through the chaos Through the places that I've been Every drop becomes a memory Every tear becomes the sea I hear the whispers of rain Whispering back to me Whispers of rain Whispers of rain
